From the Publisher. This palm-sized book presents two of the most innovative structures of the modern age--and two of the most important art museums--in one clever package. The book highlights the New York Guggenheim, Frank Lloyd Wright's crowning achievement, and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain, recently designed to high acclaim by Frank Gehry. One half of the book contains 30 duotone photographs of the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. These images were taken in 1959, shortly after the building's completion, by Ezra Stoller, one of the preeminent architectural photographers in the world and the founder of the renowned Esto architectural photography studio. Flipping the book over reveals the other half, which consists of 34 color images of the Bilbao Museum, taken by Jeff Goldberg, an Esto architectural photographer and winner of the 1999 Institute Honors for Collaborative Achievement from the American Institute of Architects.
