Print/Out examines the evolution of artistic practices related to prints, from a recent resurgence of traditional printing techniques—often used alongside digital technologies—to the proliferation of self-published artists’ projects. Ten focused sections present key projects by Ai Weiwei, Ellen Gallagher, Martin Kippenberger, Lucy McKenzie, Aleksandra Mir, museum in progress, Edition Jacob Samuel, SUPERFLEX, Robert Rauschenberg, and Rirkrit Tiravanija. The intervening pages are populated by a dense array of reproductions representing nearly thirty printed series from the last twenty years by major artists such as Trisha Donnelly, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Julie Mehretu, Philippe Parreno, Thomas Schütte, Slavs and Tatars, Kelley Walker, and Pae White, among others.
