August 2013. A fascinating collection of interviews and essays about the work method of this groundbreaking exhibition maker with photos and plans of his Fabbrica Rosa. Since the late 1970s most of Szemann’s international exhibitions started in this old watch factory in the Maggia valley at the southern edge of the Swiss Alps. Here he also accumulated his research library and enormous archive, which is now moving to the Getty Foundation in Los Angeles.

Calvin Tomkins

August 2013. Three very interesting conversations between a great writer and probably the most innovative, intelligent, independent artist of the past hundred years. A talk between Tomkins and Paul Chan, the artist and now also publisher, serves as an introduction to this book.
