From the Publisher. Noted Swiss graphic designer and illustrator Peter Olpe has been designing and constructing customized pinhole cameras since 1978. In 2012, Olpe donated his collection to the Swiss Camera Museum in Vepey, which was the catalyst for a forthcoming exhibition, photo project, and this book, which tells the story of the author’s ever-changing interests in pinhole photography. In addition, the book includes a series of photos taken with his cameras by thirty-six much-loved photographers—Jim Goldberg, Olivero Toscani, Georg Aerni, Herlinde Koelbl, and Alec Soth among them—in a pre-arranged art barter. This spectacularly produced photo book was recently awarded the silver medal at the Deutsche Fotobuchpreis 2013, putting pinhole photography amongst the artistic vanguard at last. Introduction by German photo-historian Klaus Honnef.
