Kimberlie Birks

Kimberlie Birks is a New York-based freelance writer. She graduated cum laude in Art History from Brown University and was a Silas H. Rhodes scholar in the Design Criticism MFA program at the School of Visual Arts. She has gathered diverse writing experience through her work as program coordinator for Deepak HomeBase (Deepak Chopra’s conversational platform at ABC Home); Steven Heller (in the researching of his book Writing and Research for Graphic Designers); communications work for The Water Tank Project, a public art campaign set to transform the New York skyline in Summer 2014; and as a curatorial intern at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. Her writing has appeared in Abitare, Domus, Azure, Metropolis, Design Bureau, and The Architect’s Newspaper. A keen traveler, she relishes the opportunity to explore creative worlds of all kinds and the challenge of fastening their vibrancy to words.
