A timeless book that reminds and re-reminds me that the purpose of all theatrical design is to tell the story.
A book on graphic design that teaches you to ask, “What is the problem to be solved?” If you can state that clearly, then you can look at your design solution and see if you have accomplished that goal.
How do you bottle light? Corot does not give an answer but captures atmosphere so effortlessly you will not give up the quest.
A book on writing that teaches the necessity of picking the right word, the apt word to tell the story. This inspires me to pick the right color, the right line, the right intensity of light to tell the story.
