Claire Wilcox

Claire Wilcox is Senior Curator of Fashion at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A). She was educated at Exeter University and Camberwell School of Art, University of London.

She devised "Fashion in Motion," live fashion shows staged in the museum’s galleries, in 1999, and curated the exhibitions "Satellites of Fashion" (Crafts Council, 1998), "Radical Fashion" (2001), "Versace at the V&A" (2002), "Vivienne Westwood" (2004), and "The Golden Age of Couture: Paris and London 1947–1957" (2007).

Wilcox is a trustee of the Royal School of Needlework, on the editorial board of Fashion Theory, and lectures regularly. Her most recent book, The Ambassador; Fashion and Trade in Post-War Britain, of which she is a co-editor, will be published in 2012.
