Designers & Books Curates a Book Fair @ Dwell on Design NY, October 9–11
10 publishers plus rare book dealers, and a chance to win over 10 different free books
By Steve Kroeter and Stephanie Salomon October 7, 2014Designers & Books is curating a pop-up design book fair, featuring titles from more than a dozen publishers and rare and out of print book dealers, at the first-ever Dwell on Design NY, October 9–11, taking place at 82 Mercer Street in New York’s SoHo.
The book fair expands on the Designers & Books Online Book Fair and the Designers & Books Fair held in 2012 in New York.
New York’s inaugural “festival of modern design,” organized by Dwell magazine and following the popular Dwell on Design L.A. earlier this year, features two trade days and one consumer day with all-day conference programming, design installations, new ideas and more.
The book fair will be open all three days. Publishers represented include AMMO Books, CLOG, Gestalten, Lars Müller Publishers, The MIT Press, Paintbox Press, Phaidon, Prestel, Princeton Architectural Press, and the Bard Graduate Center. Rare and out of print book dealers at the fair include Carnegie Hill Books, Optos Books, and Trevian Books. Visitors who stop by the book fair have a chance to win any of over 10 different design books in a special drawing.
Highlights of Dwell on Design NY include a keynote address by architect Daniel Libeskind, whose new list of the books that inspire him posted on October 6, presentations by Michael Bierut, Margie Ruddick, and Clive Wilkinson, and Design Like You Give a Damn: LIVE!.
