Foreclosed: Rehousing the American Dream

From the Publisher. Foreclosed is an exploration of new architectural possibilities in the aftermath of the recent foreclosure crisis in the United States. In summer 2011, five teams of architects, urban planners, ecologists, engineers, and landscape designers were invited by MoMA to develop proposals for housing and transportation infrastructure that could catalyze urban transformation. Each team focused on a specific location—the Northeast, the Southeast, the Midwest, the Pacific Northwest, and the Southwest—to come up with inventive solutions that reimagined existing patterns of living, working, and home ownership. This volume presents each of these proposals in detail through photographs, drawings, and renderings as well as interviews with the team leaders.
