Inga Sempé

French product designer Inga Sempé was born in Paris, France. A 1993 graduate of Les Ateliers–ENSCI (Ecole nationale supérieure de création industrielle), in 2000 she established her own studio in Paris where she lives and works, with two assistants. Sempé has designed furniture, lighting, and other products for major companies in France, Italy, Sweden, and Norway. These clients include Alessi, Almedahls, Cappellini, Edra, Gärsnäs, Globo, Hay, Ligne Roset, Luceplan, Moustache, Mutina, Svenskt Tenn, and Wästberg, among others.

Sempé’s work has been widely recognized. In 2000–2001, she was a resident at the Villa Medici, Académie de France in Rome, and in 2003 she was awarded the Grand Prix de la Création en Design à la Paris (Grand Prize in Creative Design in Paris). That same year a solo exhibition of her designs was on view at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. She was the Guest of Honour 2012 at the Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair.
