Seymour Chwast’s Book List 10 books and 2 comments

The books I like are human-size 3-D objects. The are made of ink and paper and sometimes boards and cloth. They often contain things to ponder, ignore, memorize, and laugh and wonder at. Don’t you like them too?

4 books
Hildegard Krahé

Meggendorfer was the undisputed master of the pop-up book—pure magic with paper.

Ute Eskildsen

Historical picture postcards—charming, surreal, and inspired by Dada.

John Lewis

Small-format, mostly Victorian, examples of printed matter. Aggressive and elegant typography.

The Art Brothers

Images in all media organized with incongruent subject matter.

It makes us proud to find our book »Fritz Kahn« on this list! Thanks and best wishes from Berlin and Wiesbaden, Germany.

I own an IPAD and got back into reading more. But I do enjoy holding and savoring the feel of a book--be it paperback, hard copy--- even a magazine. Each having its own character. Smells historically shelved and saved for others to also experience. While the IPAd has made traveling less burdensome. It gives me the opportunity to carry along my sketchbook more often. But still the colors that come from "living" books as I shall call them. Has its own legend and memory to keep.

Long live books. May we publish forever
